Inspiring philanthropy to advance health care in the Midlands of South Carolina
DonatePrisma Health Midlands Foundation celebrates 25 years of advancing health care
Prisma Health Midlands Foundation (formerly Palmetto Health Foundation) celebrated its 25th anniversary this month. Founded in March 2000 as Palmetto Health Foundation – when Palmetto Health Richland and Baptist Medical Foundations merged – the Foundation has been instrumental in funding innovative treatments, facilities, patient programs and more in the Midlands.
Fueled by philanthropy, Point-of-Care Ultrasound Program makes waves at Children’s Hospital
Prisma Health Children’s Hospital-Midlands received an unprecedented investment in its Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) program in February – a $450,000 gift to Prisma Health Midlands Foundation from Kelly Willenberg.
Willenberg became familiar with the program several years ago through her son-in-law, pediatric hospitalist Duncan Norton, MD, who leads the POCUS program.
Professional Development: Congratulations to the 2025 William L. Ivey Fellows
The William L. Ivey Endowment provides a unique scholarship opportunity for professional development for Prisma Health Richland team members. The scholarship covers travel to one of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) conferences with the expectation that knowledge gained will be shared with others at Prisma Health and will result in first-hand expertise that will be a tremendous asset to Prisma Health.
